Release of the Book "Palmiers"

Appearing during the Cretaceous period more than 100 million years ago, palm trees have colonized many regions of the globe. From deserts to tropical forests, coastal areas to mountainous regions, they have adapted to a wide variety of environments. They belong to a single botanical family, the Arecaceae, which includes more than 2,800 different species found across all five continents.

Since time immemorial, this mythical plant has captivated us with the grace of its fronds, the exuberance of its flowers and fruits, and its gigantism, as it holds numerous records in the plant kingdom. It remains a ubiquitous presence in culture, traditions, commerce, and the daily lives of billions of people. While it has been the subject of countless studies and publications, for the first time in the literature on palm trees, I have the immense privilege and joy of sharing with you their most stunning bark in a completely original work.

Inspired by the bestseller ‘BARKS, an intimate look at the world trees’, this fourth volume will feature over 70 monographs of palm trees, ranging from the most well-known to the rarest species, complemented by a total of nearly 200 different species. The book will be illustrated with more than 400 photographs where, like works of art, graphics, textures, and colors blend seamlessly. A moment of pure escape across the five continents, offering a fresh perspective on palm trees that is both botanical and artistic, educational and poetic.
